إني ليهجـرني الصـديق تجنبا
فـأريـه أن لهجره أسبابا
وأراه إن عاتبتـه أغـريتـه
فأرى له ترك العتاب عتابا
وإذا بليت بجاهـل متحكـم
يجد المحال من الأمور صوابا
أوليته مني السكوت وربما كان
السكوت عن الجواب جواب
فـأريـه أن لهجره أسبابا
وأراه إن عاتبتـه أغـريتـه
فأرى له ترك العتاب عتابا
وإذا بليت بجاهـل متحكـم
يجد المحال من الأمور صوابا
أوليته مني السكوت وربما كان
السكوت عن الجواب جواب
هل يرسو قلبي ؟ في البر أو البحر
